Tree roots
Ageing clay pipes
Fat and grease

What Feeds Into the Price of a Clear?
We provide up-front, honest quotes that will always match the final price, should you decide to go ahead.
That matters on drain work because two jobs that look identical from the kitchen can be very different once the camera is in the line.
"Not only all of that but the job came in right on quote." Steve
What shapes the number:
- Where the blockage sits A fixture trap is a short job; a blockage under the yard or a raised floor takes longer to reach.
- The material in the ground Clay, PVC and galvanised lines each need a different approach and different gear.
- What the camera finds A simple clear is one figure; a cracked section that needs relining is another, and the footage is yours to see before choosing.
- The hour Night and weekend visits are charged at a higher rate, named at booking.

When the Work Belongs to Someone Else
When we're not the right call: the sewer main past your property line is Hunter Water's asset. When footage puts the choke in their pipe, you report it to them and we stop there. A gutter full of leaf litter sending water down the walls is a roof job, and the gutter guards page covers the lasting fix for that one.
Drain Questions From This Side of the Lake
My drain blocks again a few months after every clear. What should the next step be?
A line that keeps blocking points to damage in the pipe, such as roots through an old earthenware joint or a cracked length. A camera inspection pinpoints the failure, and the fix is then either a proper root cut or a relining of the damaged section so they cannot return.
Is a blocked stormwater grate the same job as a blocked sewer?
No. Stormwater carries rain off roofs and yards while the sewer carries waste from the house, and the symptoms differ: flooding at grates during rain points to stormwater, while gurgles, slow fixtures and smells point to the sewer. Each gets its own page and its own method.
Do you clear drains with chemicals?
No. Drain chemicals eat at old clay and rubber seals and rarely clear a root mass or a fat plug. A water jetter or an electric eel breaks the blockage up mechanically, and a camera run afterwards shows the line is open.
Can you tell whether roots have cracked the pipe or just grown through a joint?
The camera footage shows the difference. A root ball through a joint can be cut away and the line kept, while a cracked or collapsed section needs relining or excavation. You watch the footage with us before any decision is made.
